Change "mixed" declarations to more accurate types in test members; in particular, change those that would be flagged if we were to run Phpstan at level 9 (we currently run level 8). I may or may not follow up with source code (over 700 level-9 problems remain for src), but, as with strict typing, there is no reason to avoid the effort for test members.
It was necessary to update some doc blocks in src to accommodate this change. However, no executable code is touched.
While we might never be able to have 100% of our code strict, we can at
the very least do it for all of our tests. This ensures that our tests
are using our API with the types as intended by the test author, and not
silently be cast to what our API requires.
And quite a bit more manual changes. The idea is that typing of our
tests can be a bit more loose, so we assume PHPDoc is mostly correct. If
that happens to be wrong, it should be caught by the tests themselves.
Successor to PR #3523. There are 494 single-line changes (`public function provider` to `public static function provider`) in this PR. None of these were made manually; they were all created with the following script (adapted from
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25909820/how-to-recursively-iterate-through-files-in-php):
```php
$dir = 'C:/git/unit10prep2/tests/PhpSpreadsheetTests';
$it = new RecursiveDirectoryIterator($dir);
// Loop through files
foreach(new RecursiveIteratorIterator($it) as $file) {
if ($file->getExtension() === 'php') {
$contents = file_get_contents($file);
$new = preg_replace('/public function (\\w*)([Pp])rovider/', 'public static function $1$2rovider', $contents);
if ($new !== $contents) {
echo "changing $file\n";
file_put_contents($file, $new);
}
}
}
```
After this PR, there will be one more, with a small number of test changes, and enabling PhpUnit 10 for Php 8.1+.
Added a function to the new `FormattedNumber` helper that will use the currency code pulled from `localeconv` by `StringHelper::getCurrencyCode()`. The currency code is `preg_quoted` and then dropped into a regexp that is modelled on the expression developed for `convertToNumberIfPercent`. This will allow locale independent operation.
Unfortunately `localeconv` only provides information about standard currency formats and not accounting formats. This means that we can't say for sure whether or not a locale has an accounting format where the currency symbol shows up in a non-standard position (eg. left justified for some countries instead of appearing directly in front of the value). The regexp should handle these cases.
The primary issue with this approach is that the regexp will incorrectly match invalid currency formats for some locals as it checks for the symbol before and after the value.
A possible improvement would be to pull `p_cs_precedes` and `n_cs_precedes` from `localeconv` and using them to determine if the currency symbol should appear before or after the value for the current locale. Since white-space is ignored by the regexp, accounting formats should still work, as long as the accounting format doesn't involve moving the symbol to the opposite side of the value.
Adding two test cases:
1) Test the function in `StringHelper.php`. Modeled this test on the test for the `convertToNumberIfFraction` function.
2) Test a spreadsheet with a string percentage in a formula to see if it calculates the formula correctly.
* Capture of worksheet name in Calculation Engine cell references modified to handle apostrophe and quote marks, and made non-greedy to avoid ensure that multiple quoted worksheet names in a formula aren't all captured in one go
* Split some of the unit tests into separate test classes
* Let's start with some appeasements to phpstan, just to reduce the baseline
* Appeasements to phpstan, taking the number of reported errors down to just 61
* Fix for Issue #1887 - Lose Track of Selected Cells After Save
Issue #1887 reports that selected cells are lost after saving Xlsx. Testing indicates that this applies to the object in memory, though not to the saved spreadsheet.
Xlsx writer tries to save calculated values for cells which contain formulas. Calculation::_calculateFormulaValue issues a getStyle call merely to retrieve the quotePrefix property, which, if set, indicates that the cell does not contain a formula even though it looks like one. A side-effect of calls to getStyle is that selectedCell is updated. That is clearly accidental, and highly undesirable, in this case. Code is changed to save selectedCell before getStyle call and restore it afterwards.
The problem was reported only for Xlsx save. To be on the safe side, test is made for output formats of Xlsx, Xls, Ods, Html (which basically includes Pdf), and Csv. For all of those, the object in memory is tested after the save. For Xlsx and Xls, the saved file is also tested. It does not make sense to test the saved file for Csv and Html. It does make sense to test it for Ods, but the necessary support is not yet present in either the Ods Reader or Ods Writer - a project for another day.
* Move Logic Out of Calculation, Add Support for Ods ActiveSheet and SelectedCells
Mark Baker thought logic belonged in Worksheet, not Calculation.
I couldn't get it to work in Worksheet, but doing it in Cell works,
and that has already been used to preserve ActiveSheet over call to
getCalculatedValue, so this just extends that idea to SelectedCells.
Original tests could not completely support Ods because of a lack of support
for ActiveSheet and SelectedCells in Ods Reader and Writer.
There's a lot missing in Ods support, but a journey of 1000 miles ...
Those two particular concepts are now supported for Ods.
This request does not change any source code, only tests.
For a change on which I was working, a test passed when run on its own,
but failed when run as part of the full test suite. It turned out that
an existing test had changed a static value,
thousands separator in this case, and failed to restore it.
The test turned out to be AdvancedBinderTest.
The search for the offending test was more difficult than it should have
been because 26 test scripts which had nothing to do with thousands
separator nevertheless changed that value. They all changed
decimal separator, currency code, and compatibility mode as well,
again for no reason. I changed all of those to eliminate those operations.
I changed the following tests, which actually do change the static
properties identified above for a reason, to restore them as part of teardown.
- CalculationTest sets compatibilityMode and locale
- DayTest sets compatibilityMode, returnDateType, and excelCalendar
- CountTest sets compatibilityMode
- FunctionsTest sets compatibilityMode and returnDateType
- AdvancedValueBinderTest sets currencyCode, decimalSeparator, thousandsSeparator
- StringHelperTest sets currencyCode, decimalSeparator, thousandsSeparator
- NumberFormatTest sets currencyCode, decimalSeparator, thousandsSeparator
- HtmlNumberFormatTest sets currencyCode, decimalSeparator, thousandsSeparator
For functions introduced in Excel 2010 and beyond, Excel saves them
in formulas with the xlfn_ prefix. PhpSpreadsheet does not do this;
as a result, when a spreadsheet so created is opened, the cells
which use the new functions display a #NAME? error.
This the cause of bug report 1246:
https://github.com/PHPOffice/PhpSpreadsheet/issues/1246
This change corrects that problem when the Xlsx writer encounters
a 2010+ formula for a cell or a conditional style. A new class
Writer/Xlsx/Xlfn, with 2 static methods,
is introduced to facilitate this change.
As part of the testing for this, I found some additional problems.
When an unknown function name is used, Excel generates a #NAME? error.
However, when an unknown function is used in PhpSpreadsheet:
- if there are no parameters, it returns #VALUE!, which is wrong
- if there are parameters, it throws an exception, which is horrible
Both of these situations will now return #NAME?
Tests have been added for these situations.
The MODE (and MODE.SNGL) function is not quite in alignment with Excel.
MODE(3, 3, 4, 4) returns 3 in both Excel and PhpSpreadsheet.
However, MODE(4, 3, 3, 4) returns 4 in Excel, but 3 in PhpSpreadsheet.
Both situations will now match Excel's result.
Also, Excel allows its parameters for MODE to be an array,
but PhpSpreadsheet did not; it now will.
There had not been any tests for MODE. Now there are.
The SHEET and SHEETS functions were introduced in Excel 2013,
but were not introduced in PhpSpreadsheet. They are now introduced
as DUMMY functions so that they can be parsed appropriately.
Finally, in common with the "rate" changes for which I am
creating a pull request at the same time as this one:
samples/Basic/13_CalculationCyclicFormulae
PhpUnit started reporting an error like "too much regression".
The test deals with an infinite cyclic formula, and allowed
the calculation engine to run for 100 cycles. The actual number of cycles
seems irrelevant for the purpose of this test. I changed it to 15,
and PhpUnit no longer complains.
Calculation engine was resolving every function by first resolving its arguments
including IFs, this was causing significant over evaluation when IFs were used
as it meant for every case to be evaluated.
Introduce elements to identify ifs and enable better branch resolution
(pruning). We tag parsed tokens to associate a branch identifier to them.
Closes#844
Commit 8dddf56 inadvertently removed the ability to omit the width
and height arguments to the OFFSET function. And #REF! is returned
because the function is validating that the new $pCell argument
is present. It is present, but it has been passed in the $height position.
We fixed this by always passing $pCell at the last position and filling
missing arguments with NULL values.
Fixes#561Fixes#565
This change adds support for newer functions that are prefixed
by _xlfn. (#356). The calculation engine has been updated to
recognise these as functions, and drop the _xlfn. part.
It also add a couple of the new functions such as STDEV.S/P,
MODE.SNGL, ISFORMULA.
